How often do you get burned out, overthink something or take on too much?
Every day you have the option to work harder, do more and try to do something new, you can push and push and push.
But sometimes you need to stop.
There are numerous times in which you’ll want to do something and the only thing that is holding you back from doing it is you overthinking it, it’s believing that you have to do more thinking, research, planning, work, etc. when in reality you may just need to do less.
At times we get overwhelmed with all the possibilities, sometimes we decide that nobody else is capable of doing what we do and so we do everything. We believe that if we can control every last detail then the only person to blame is yourself which is fine to us.
When you become overwhelmed, when you get burned out and start to overthink things, the only way for you to get ahead is to start doing less. Start putting your worries and problems on other people by having them handle things. Get other people to take care of your mundane tasks, get someone else to do the research.
At the end of the day, if you start to fail then everything you’ve created will start to fail.
Think for a moment of the things that you could accomplish if you stopped doing all these little things that are holding you back, if you could focus all your energy on the most productive things.
How much more could you get done?
Not only would you get more done, but you’d also feel less pressured, everything would become easier. If you can start to do less, if you can start working smarter instead of harder, you will grow much faster than you thought possible.
When you were a kid, you didn’t worry about your next meal, you didn’t worry about what you were going to wear for the next week, you didn’t worry about anything. You didn’t worry because of the larger picture you had in your mind, you wanted to discover the world, you wanted to learn and have fun.
Instead of worrying, instead of making sure every last thing is taken care of, live for the bigger picture. Do less, work smarter.
We all overwork ourselves, we take on too much thinking that we’re invincible. We’re not. The world his hard and ruthless, it will eat you alive if you think that you can just keep working harder.
Doing less is one of the most important things to know how to do because although you can keep doing more, there will be a point where doing more will cause you more harm than it will good. In these times you need know how to back off, do less, take it easy, work smart instead of hard.
The last thing you want to do is burn out, overthink everything and take on too much, it can destroy you in an instant.
