Don’t Go Insane

Time and time again I’ve been told that the only things that can bring me down, the only things that can take someone from success to failure in an instance is losing your sanity and falling into bad habits like getting into drugs, alcohol, etc.

The past years of my life I’ve been working and operating at the level of people 10-20 years older than me and trying to not make the mistakes that so many do along the way and this has always been the hardest battle of all. From the outside it seems like life is great and easy, that nothing goes wrong and business is easy. I’m positive that all entrepreneurs can attest that it’s not easy and it’s not always fun.

The words ring in my ears month after month from the people that coach and mentor me, don’t go insane.

But how do you push yourself mentally without breaking? Through managing yourself and understanding that there will always be a part of your life that is flourishing and part of your life that needs work and attention.

Over the past months I’ve gotten heavy into details and systems, heavy into the logical left side of the brain and it’s created a lot of success within my teams and my work but has also worn me out more than I’ve ever been worn out before.

I had been focusing so much on my strengths and my ability to do logical work that I completely neglected my creative side and had thus started to stall my ability to grow. After talking with my coaches and mentors I realized what was holding me back and have started to ask myself things like what am I inspired to do and I have grown more in the past week than I have in the past two months.

Although I was able to find the problem and fix it, things may not be the same next time. Life is like a series of cups, some are filled and some are empty and it’s up to us to find out what needs the attention and what cups need to be filled back up for us to live a happy life.

Everyone is different and everyone has different cups to fill. Maybe you value family or finances or your social life or health. Whatever your cups are, you need to find the things that you put your focus on and the things that you often neglect.

Often the the things that you are neglecting are the things that are holding you back the most.

For me it was tapping into the creative side of the universe and being inspired by things rather than just being technical, for you it may be something completely different. At the end of the day you need to not go insane and realize that things are always changing and will always present new challenges and you can never give up.

You’ll be hearing from people as you grow, don’t go insane and fall into bad habits.

Mafia kingpins had one major rule to follow, don’t trust a man who hasn’t done time. You will be tested time and time again, you will battle yourself and your sanity time and time again. It’s up to you to find the ways to keep your sanity and fight through the hard times. Once you understand how you did it before you’ll know you can do it again and will grow more than ever.

The ability to to have people help me through my toughest times is a miracle in itself and I thank all the people that have helped me and continue to help me.

Everyone fights a different battle and I encourage you to look at the areas in your life that you’re lacking in and fill your cups back up.

Sometimes the simplest of things can make a world of a difference.
