Neighbourhood Guide
Niagara Falls
World wonder, hometown prices
Everyone knows the Falls; far fewer know Niagara Falls the hometown. Beyond Clifton Hill's neon and the tourist corridor lies a city of established residential neighbourhoods where real people live full-time at some of the most accessible price points in the Golden Horseshoe. The city's north end around Stamford Centre offers mature, family-friendly streets. Chippawa, at the city's south edge along the Welland River, has a beloved village feel with marina access. Newer subdivisions in the southwest near the new South Niagara Hospital site are adding modern inventory, while the historic Main & Ferry and Queen Street districts are slowly drawing investment as the city works to extend tourism energy into year-round local culture. For investors, the equation is unique: 14 million annual visitors, a deep hospitality labour market, casino employment, and a price-to-rent ratio that remains one of southern Ontario's most favourable. The GO train's seasonal-to-expanding service and the new hospital project are the infrastructure stories to watch.

Insider Take
Niagara Falls is the best cash-flow story in my coverage area. The tourist economy guarantees rental demand at every price point, and you can still buy a solid detached home for what a condo parking spot costs in Toronto. My advice: stay west of the tourist corridor for principal residences. Stamford and the north end give you the best schools-to-price ratio, and look at Chippawa if you want waterfront village charm before everyone else rediscovers it. The South Niagara Hospital, opening soon, is quietly re-rating the entire southwest quadrant.
